Mr. David Zuellig’s life work centered on business and philanthropy. His appointment as Philippine Honorary Consul General to Monaco in 2020 added diplomacy and public service to his personal mission.
Mr. Zuellig was born in the Philippines in 1957. He studied business and finance in the US and in Switzerland. He joined the family business in the 1980s. In 2011, he was named Chairman of Zuellig Pharma, the largest pharmaceutical distributor in the Asia-Pacific region. He is currently the Co-Managing Director of the Singapore-based Zuellig Group. Mr. Zuellig is also the Chairman and Managing Director of the FPG Insurance Group, a company with operations in the Philippines and Indonesia.
Mr. Zuellig’s other passion is philanthropy. As a former Trustee, he remains actively involved in the Zuellig Family Foundation. The ZFF helps rural communities address health concerns like maternal and child health, tuberculosis, and malnutrition.
He was also on the advisory boards of the Asia Philanthropy Circle and the Asia Impact Investment Fund.
Mr. Zuellig was named “Hero of Philanthropy” by Forbes Asia Magazine in 2017 and received the prestigious Oblation Award from the University of the Philippines in 2023 for his contributions to philanthropy.
Dr. Hazel Zuellig is a consultant neurologist at the Brain Institute of the Cardinal Santos Medical Center and at Centre Medicale Internationale in Bonifacio Global City in Manila. She graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and finished her residency training in Neurology at the Philippine General Hospital. She also holds a Masters in Business Administration.
Dr. Zuellig is an Adjunct Professor of Health Policy and Hospital Administration at the UP College of Public Health. She has contributed to several international academic publications on epilepsy and public health and has given many lectures at neurology conferences in the Philippines and abroad.
Throughout her professional life, Dr. Zuellig has been a leading proponent of service projects on seizures, brain tumors, cancer, and stroke through different medical organizations.
Dr. Zuellig received the Presidential Award from the UP Medical Alumni Society in 2023 for her accomplishments and contributions to the university.
