In 2020, Mr. David Zuellig was appointed Honorary Consul General of the Philippines to the Principality of Monaco. He and his wife, Dr. Hazel Zuellig, a neurologist, moved to Monte Carlo around the initial weeks of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was from their new base in Monaco that they directed their initial efforts at assisting hospitals and healthcare workers in the Philippines as they responded to the global scourge of Covid. Their personal donations were channeled through the Rotary Club of Makati West and the Bayanihan Na Covid Operations Center of the Philippine General Hospital.
